A column defines a property of entries in a block.

Configuration

Each column has:

a name
a column type
an optional description
an optional default value
a required flag

Choice and multi-choice columns can define allowed values.

Column: Status
Type: Choice

Values:
• Draft
• In review
• Approved
• Retired

Two presentation roles

The same column appears differently in the block view depending on the work mode:

When modeling — configuration in the schema panel (type, name, required, options)
When maintaining data — input and display in the table and entry detail

The surfaces are separate but follow the same type and column definition. Reference pages show both roles side by side.
