Why Baseline?

Baseline is a configurable application for structured directories with traceable, comparable full snapshots.

Administrators define blocks, columns, choice values, relations, and views. Users create and edit entries. When a meaningful state is reached, the entire base can be deliberately frozen as an immutable baseline.

Baseline answers three questions:

What is current?
What changed since the last frozen state?
What did the full directory look like at an earlier point in time?

Starting point

Organizations often keep critical information in spreadsheets, SharePoint lists, documents, or lightweight no-code databases. Those tools show the current content. When a previous authoritative full state is needed, familiar problems appear: which file is current, what changed since the last audit, and how can a prior state be reproduced?

Enterprise GRC, ALM, and requirements systems offer versioning and baselines but are often too costly or complex for smaller organizations.

Baseline closes the gap between a simple table and a heavyweight specialist platform.

Baseline is not tied to a single domain. It is a generic, versionable system for structured directories. An entry might be an ISMS artefact, asset, risk, process, role, measure, requirement, test case, licence, supplier, evidence, or decision.

Meaning comes from how each base is configured.
